Kiss me even if Im not Irish
By Chaele McMillan
Saint Patrick is believed to have been born in the late fourth century. He was also known as the patron saint. He was also the national apostle of Ireland who is credited with bringing christianity to Ireland. It is said that he converted the warrior chiefs and princes, baptizing them and thousands of their people in the Holy Wells.
Did you know Saint Patrick is known most for driving the snakes out of Ireland? It really is true that there are no snakes in Ireland. Most people believe there were never any snakes in Ireland to start with.
Saint Patrick died on March 17, 460 A.D. Today, many Catholic places of worship are named after St. Patrick, including cathedrals in New York.
For those who celebrate its intended meaning, March 17th is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.
Saint Patrick's Day is associated with anything green and gold, shamrocks, and Good luck.
Remember, on March 17 you have a day to celebrate with your friends and family even if youre not Irish. Make sure you wear a little green and believe in the Good Luck that will be coming your way.
